MANILA, Philippines — Asahan ang matinding bakbakan sa pagitan nina interim welterweight champion Will “The Kill” Chope at Filipino challenger Brian Paule sa Universal Reality Combat Championship (URCC) 85: Underdog sa DD Night Club sa Tomas Morato sa Hunyo 2.
Nasiguro ni Chope ang vacant interim URCC beltlaban kay Filipino fighter Arvin Chan noong Disyembre.
Galing din si Chope ng tatlong beses sa panalo.
“Since winning the URCC title, life is the same and hasn’t changed at all. I still actively coach and train and fighting as much as I can,” ani Chope na three-time URCC champion.
Hawak ni Chope ang 41-19 win-loss record.
Sa kabilang banda, tinalo na ni Paule si Chope may limag taon na ang nakalilipas sa pamamagitan ng knockout win sa isang MMA bout sa Dipolog City.
“It’s a mission on my part to get the title back for the Filipinos, URCC title is for Filipino fighters. And I want to prove to anyone that I can beat him again,” ani Paule.
Ngunit handa si Chope na ibuhos ang lahat para maitarak ang matamis na pagresbak sa oras na magkrus ang kanilang landas ni Paule.
“Fighting Brian is just another fight. It is nice to win against him because I get to avenge my loss to him when we fought in an exhibition match in 2017,” ani Chope.
